About the role The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) provides advanced specialist nursing care and clinical leadership to support high quality, patient-centred care. This position is located in Parkes and forms part of the broader Community & Allied Health Nursing Team across Lachlan Health Service, which incorporates both Parkes and Forbes. Staff may be required to work across both sites as operationally required.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 specialising in Diabetes, you will join a team of experienced clinicians committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-focused care that improves health outcomes for individuals, families, and the community.
In this role, you will deliver complex clinical services, undertake care management planning, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and provide expert support to patients and carers. You will demonstrate advanced clinical expertise within the specialty area while providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to nursing and multidisciplinary teams. Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders, you will contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the implementation of best-practice clinical standards to enhance patient care across the service.
Applicants must hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
and possess relevant post-registration qualifications with a minimum of three years' experience in the relevant specialty area, or equivalent experience. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong clinical leadership capabilities, and a commitment to skilled nursing standards, quality improvement, and patient safety. This role offers excellent work-life balance with flexible working arrangements, operating Monday to Friday with no weekends or public holidays, and typical working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm, with flexibility available.
Respirator use may be required as part of the role, with training, fit testing, and workplace support provided in accordance with NSW Health requirements.
