About the Role The Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT) program is a court-based diversion program for adults facing charges in the Local Court who have issues related to their alcohol and other drug use.
In this role, you will be providing high quality clinical and case management services to clients in order to ensure provision of optimal health outcomes for clients of the Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment (MERIT) Program. This position delivers interventions for people with substance use issues referred by Local Courts to MERIT, over a determined period, with a requirement to provide written and oral reports for the clients remaining under Court supervision throughout the duration of the Program.
Ideal Candidate
- Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers OR Must hold tertiary qualifications in psychology and be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in Psychology OR Must hold qualifications recognised for employment as a Counsellor or Welfare Officer under the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award.
- Knowledge, skills and clinical experience in counselling and case management practice and the provision of services to clients seeking treatment for substance use and related issues.
- Commitment to professional development,
evidence based practice and continuous improvement.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
