Metalform Industries (MFI) is a metal fabrication and CNC machining business based in Rathmines. We produce precision machined and fabricated components for mining, industrial and engineering clients, and we're looking for an experienced delivery driver to join the team on a permanent basis.
About the role
You'll be responsible for getting our components to customers safely, on time and in good condition. Most deliveries are around the Newcastle and Hunter region, with runs to Sydney when required.
Key responsibilities
- Helping hand in the workshop before loading, securing and delivering machined and fabricated components, including heavy and awkward loads
- Planning your runs and coordinating pickups and drop-offs with the workshop and office
- Handling delivery paperwork and confirming receipt with customers
- Doing pre-start checks and keeping the truck clean, maintained and roadworthy
- Following safe work practices for load restraint, lifting and rigging
About you To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A current MR licence
- A current rigging ticket
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar delivery or transport role
- Experience handling machined or fabricated steel components
- A valuable driving record and a reliable, safety-first approach
- Good communication skills and a professional manner with customers
- A forklift licence and knowledge of the Newcastle industrial area would be a bonus.
