Our Economic Development and Place team works across destination marketing, business engagement, events, place activation and economic development to help shape the future of Subiaco.

About the Role

We're looking for a motivated and organised destination marketing professional to join our Economic Development and Place team as our Destination Marketing and Events Officer.

Reporting to the Senior Destination Marketing and Events Officer, you'll develop and deliver actions, programs and initiatives as identified in the City’s Destination Marketing Strategy.

This is a varied role where no two weeks are quite the same. You could be developing a marketing campaign, collaborating with local businesses, onsite creating social media content, managing the website, preparing reports or exploring opportunities to enhance how we promote Subiaco.

The role offers genuine opportunity to contribute ideas, improve existing programs and help evolve the City's destination marketing and events portfolio while working within Council priorities, governance frameworks and legislative requirements.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about marketing and tourism, have superior communication and organisational skills and enjoy delivering out-of-the-box ideas. We're looking for someone who brings initiative, enthusiasm and a willingness to contribute.

You may already have experience in destination marketing, tourism, communications, events or activation, or you may be looking for the prospect to step into a broader role with greater responsibility.

Your responsibilities will include:





- Developing and creating a range of stand-out marketing materials to promote Subiaco to a range of diverse audiences, through the City’s destination brand, See Subiaco.
- Managing the See Subiaco website, social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok) and email marketing strategy.
- Ensure smooth planning and delivery of See Subiaco’s town centre events calendar including coordinating sponsorship programs and contract management.
- Liaise with local businesses to develop and implement event and marketing initiatives to promote the Subiaco town centre as a desirable retail, hospitality and entertainment destination.
- Monitor channels, campaigns and event performance and use insights to continually improve future initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a similar role including destination/tourism marketing and promotion.
- Experience managing digital channels, including social media (Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok), website management systems (Wordpress) and email marketing platforms.
- Experience in event contract management and/or stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated ability to write and prepare a wide range of marketing materials for diverse audiences.
- Experience in the development of business and government communication tools including report writing and document development.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use corporate computer systems, content management systems and graphic design programs (preferred).

Salary Package In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 5. The salary range is $89,477.90 to $99,567.00 per annum, exclusive of superannuation.
