The purpose the Aboriginal Immunisation Public Health Officer (Aboriginal Identified, Female) is to provide leadership and to manage the development, implementation and evaluation of activities to improve immunisation coverage in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in SLHD.

The Aboriginal Immunisation Public Health

Officer (Aboriginal Identified, Female) will be responsible for contributing to the safe and effective delivery of immunisation to the Aboriginal Community in SLHD. They will provide strategic leadership and support for immunisation education and develop and maintain relationships between the Public Health Unit and community, parents, Aboriginal Medical Services, other immunisation providers and other stakeholders, to improve and maintain high vaccination rates among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in SLHD.

- Must be a female - being female is recognised as a genuine occupation qualification and is authorised under section 31 (2H) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1977.
- Relevant Tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated extensive experience in health services, public health, health promotion or other appropriate discipline and relevant work experience in developing, implementing and evaluating Aboriginal health outreach activities or health promotion events.
- Strong connection to an Aboriginal community, with lived experience and a deep understanding of the cultural, social, and health issues affecting Aboriginal peoples, along with a commitment to improving health outcomes.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
