About the Role

SSP Australia is growing at Canberra Airport, and we are looking for energetic, customer-focused hospitality professionals to join our team across six diverse food and beverage venues.

Whether your experience is in coffee, bars, cafés, restaurants or customer service, this is an opportunity to build your hospitality career with a global company while working in one of Canberra Airport’s most dynamic environments.

We have permanent part-time and full-time opportunities available, with a variety of venues, shift times and development opportunities.

What we are offering

- Permanent employment: Part-time and full-time opportunities available.

- Part-time hours: Generally 24–30 hours per week, with opportunities to increase hours based on availability, performance and business requirements.

- Full-time opportunities: 38 hours per week for suitable candidates.

- Penalty rates: Additional applicable weekend, public holiday and shift penalty rates are paid in accordance with the Restaurant Industry Award.

- Above-award opportunities: Higher rates may be considered for highly experienced candidates or positions carrying additional responsibilities.

- No late nights: A mix of early morning, daytime and evening shifts without the traditional hospitality late-night finishes.

- Daily meal benefit: $22 daily meal allowance plus complimentary coffee while on shift.

What we are looking for

We are looking for people who enjoy working with customers, thrive in busy environments and take pride in delivering consistently great service.

Ideally, you will have:

- Barista, café or bar experience — highly regarded but not essential.

- A positive, energetic and professional attitude.

- A genuine passion for customer service.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- The ability to multitask and remain organised during busy periods.

- Flexibility to work early mornings, daytime and evening shifts.

- Reliable transport, particularly for early morning shifts when public transport may be limited.

- A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate for relevant bar positions, or the ability to obtain one.

Training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, customer focus and willingness to learn.
