Fundraising Event Volunteer
Want to volunteer with Lifeline, but can’t commit to regular shifts?
Lifeline Macarthur &
- Western Sydney is looking for volunteers who would like to be part of our fundraising events throughout the year.
By registering your interest, you will be added to our Fundraising Volunteer Database and contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator when upcoming events are being planned. When an opportunity becomes available, we will provide you with the event details and ask whether you’re interested and available to help.
What types of events could you be involved in?
Our fundraising events vary throughout the year and may include:
*Gift wrapping at shopping centres across Macarthur and Western Sydney
*Golf days
*Bike rides, including the VIC 100 and Spin Cycle events
*Book fairs
*Our Annual Gala
*Community activities
Some events are organised by Lifeline Macarthur &
- Western Sydney, while others are collaborative events involving volunteers and teams from multiple Lifeline Centres.
What might you do as a volunteer?
Volunteer roles will vary depending on the event and may include helping with event setup and pack-down, welcoming and assisting attendees, gift wrapping, selling or promoting items, supporting fundraising activities, or providing general event assistance.
You don’t need to commit to ongoing volunteering. This is a great opportunity for people who would like to give back to their community, meet other Lifeline volunteers and support Lifeline through occasional or one-off events.
How does it work?
Once you register your interest, your details will be added to our Fundraising Volunteer Database. When a fundraising event is being planned, the Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to gauge your interest and availability. There is no obligation to participate in every event,
you can decide which opportunities suit you.
Impact of this role
Fundraising volunteers play an important role in helping Lifeline deliver successful community fundraising events throughout the year. Their support allows us to run events that raise vital funds for Lifeline’s services, while also increasing our presence and connection within the local community.
Having a database of volunteers who are available for occasional and one-off events provides flexibility and allows us to respond to different fundraising opportunities without requiring volunteers to make an ongoing commitment. Volunteers also help strengthen collaboration between Lifeline Centres when events are delivered jointly, contributing to the success and reach of our fundraising activities.
Benefits
This role provides a flexible way for volunteers to support Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney and their local community without the commitment of regular or ongoing volunteering. Volunteers can choose the fundraising events that suit their interests and availability, while meeting other Lifeline volunteers from across different Centres and being part of a range of community events.
It also provides opportunities to develop new skills and gain experience in event and fundraising activities, while enjoying the satisfaction of contributing to events that help raise vital funds for Lifeline’s services. For volunteers who enjoy getting involved but have limited availability, this is a excellent way to stay connected with Lifeline through occasional and one-off opportunities.
