About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environment Advisor to join our team in Leeton.

Supporting our Leeton Mill sites (~75%) and Deniliquin Mill (~25%), you’ll work closely with site leaders, supervisors, employees and the HWSE Business Partner to strengthen safety capability, manage risk and build a positive, proactive safety culture. You’ll provide practical advice, influence frontline leadership and support the ongoing improvement of our safety, wellbeing and environmental systems.

This is a hands-on role with a strong site presence. You’ll regularly monitor work activities, participate in safety walks and engage directly with employees and contractors across operational areas and offices. Australian travel of approximately 20–30% is required.

What you’ll be doing

- Maintaining a visible and regular presence across Leeton and Deniliquin operational sites




- Conducting routine site monitoring and safety walks, following up identified risks and agreed actions
- Providing practical safety, wellbeing and environmental advice to leaders, employees and contractors
- Coaching and influencing frontline leaders and supervisors to meet their safety and due diligence responsibilities
- Intervening and stopping work where an activity presents an unacceptable safety risk, then engaging with those involved to explain the risk and support a safe way forward
- Leading or participating in risk assessments and incident investigations, with a focus on learning and preventing recurrence
- Supporting the management of critical risks and verifying that effective controls are in place and working
- Reviewing safety data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and help shift the business from reactive responses to proactive safety management
- Working closely with the HWSE Business Partner to support compliance, assurance activities and continuous improvement
- Supporting contractor management, management of change and improvements to SunRice safety systems and processes

About you

You’ll be someone who is comfortable spending time in operational areas, building trusted relationships and constructively challenging unsafe practices. You can influence frontline leaders,



confidently intervene when work is unsafe and turn those moments into practical learning conversations.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or similar
- Preferred a minimum two to three years’ experience in a health, safety, wellbeing or environmental role
- Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, food production or another high-risk operational environment would be advantageous
- Experience with incident investigations and safety management systems
- Knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety legislation
- Strong communication, coaching and influencing skills, particularly with frontline leaders and operational teams
- The confidence and judgement to stop unsafe work, engage respectfully and help people understand the reasons behind required controls
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- A current Australian driver licence and the ability to travel
- Experience in auditing, environmental management, Chain of Responsibility, health and wellbeing, or safety reporting systems will be highly regarded.
