Are you an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic with strong knowledge of Volvo and European heavy vehicles?
We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Truck Mechanic to join a well-established heavy vehicle operation in Toowoomba.
This position is ideally suited to a mechanic who is confident working independently, understands modern European truck systems, and has strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.
The Role
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a modern heavy-vehicle fleet, with a strong focus on Volvo and European trucks.
Your responsibilities will include
- Servicing, maintenance and repairs of heavy commercial vehicles
- Diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
- Using diagnostic software and scan tools to accurately identify faults
- Engine, transmission, braking, suspension and driveline repairs
- Electrical troubleshooting and sensor/system fault diagnosis
- Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Identifying developing mechanical issues before they result in major failures
- Completing repairs to a high standard while minimising vehicle downtime
- Accurately completing workshop and maintenance documentation
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in mechanics with:
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent
- Strong hands-on experience working with Volvo trucks
- Experience with other European heavy vehicle brands
- Excellent mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
- Confidence using OEM diagnostic software and electronic diagnostic equipment
- Strong understanding of up-to-date diesel engines, emissions systems and vehicle electronics
- Experience with heavy transport, road transport or commercial vehicle fleets
- Ability to diagnose faults rather than simply replace components
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Australian working rights or an appropriate pathway to work in Australia
