About the role

City Fleet is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team in our Townsville Workshop (Mount St John) delivering high-quality mechanical and technical support to our customers.

Key responsibilities

- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles in a workshop environment

- Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, brake inspections, tyre rotations, and more

- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in trucks

- Repair or replace engine components, such as fuel pumps, turbochargers, and timing belts

- Perform minor welding, cutting, and fabrication repairs as required

- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used, repairs made,



and hours worked

- Ensure all work is carried out following safety standards and company policies

About you

- Proven experience as a mechanic working with heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles

- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate

- Ability to diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of heavy road transport fleets in the workshop and field

- Must have own hand tools

- High level of precision and attention to detail in repairs and maintenance

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering quality service

- Minimum C class license required, ideally HR license

- Must hold a valid work visa or Australian work rights
