On Time Plumbing is a growing plumbing and construction services business delivering plumbing, civil and associated services across a range of projects throughout Sydney and NSW.

As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who has developed a solid foundation in accounting and bookkeeping and is looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced construction and services environment.

About the Role

Reporting to management and working closely with the company's external accountants and operational teams, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial and accounting functions of the business.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain accurate financial records, assist with reporting and reconciliations, manage accounts payable and receivable processes, and support the preparation of information required for taxation, payroll and management reporting purposes.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include

- Maintaining the company's accounting records using Xero;
- Processing and reviewing accounts payable and accounts receivable;
- Preparing and issuing customer invoices;
- Processing supplier invoices and ensuring appropriate coding and supporting documentation;
- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations;
- Maintaining accurate general ledger accounts;
- Assisting with month-end accounting and reconciliation procedures;
- Preparing journals, accruals and other accounting adjustments as required;
- Assisting with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations;
- Reconciling wages, superannuation and payroll-related accounts;
- Assisting with preparation and reconciliation of Business Activity Statements (BAS);
- Preparing GST and other relevant account reconciliations;




- Monitoring outstanding customer accounts and assisting with debtor collection;
- Reconciling supplier statements and responding to supplier account enquiries;
- Assisting with cash flow monitoring and reporting;
- Preparing financial and management reports for management review;
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis;
- Maintaining appropriate accounting records and supporting documentation;
- Liaising with management, suppliers, customers, employees and external accountants regarding accounting matters;
- Assisting with financial information required for year-end accounts and income tax compliance;
- Supporting improvements to internal accounting systems, processes and controls; and
- Performing other accounting and finance duties reasonably required as part of the role.

Essential Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

- A minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or an equivalent recognised accounting qualification;
- At least 12 to 18 months of practical accounting experience in a commercial, public practice or similar accounting environment;
- Practical experience using Xero accounting software;
- Experience performing bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions;
- An understanding of GST, BAS and general Australian accounting principles;
- Good Microsoft Excel skills;
- Solid numerical and analytical skills;
- High attention to detail and accuracy;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organisational and time-management skills; and
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Experience While not essential,



preference may be given to candidates with experience in:

- Construction, plumbing, civil works or trades-based businesses;
- Payroll processing;
- Construction project or job-cost accounting;
- Supplier and subcontractor reconciliations;
- Management reporting;
- Xero Payroll;
- Deputy or similar workforce management systems; and
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel.

You will be comfortable working in a busy commercial environment where accuracy and meeting deadlines are important. You should be willing to investigate discrepancies, communicate with different areas of the business and contribute to improving accounting and administrative processes.

The role would suit an accountant who has completed their university studies and gained approximately 12–18 months or more of hands-on accounting experience, and who is now looking for broader commercial accounting exposure and increased responsibility.
