About the Role Reporting to the MMPGC Superintendent the core responsibilities include:
- Learn Golf Course Maintenance Practices Assist with mowing, turf care, bunker preparation and course presentation while developing practical turf management skills.
- Operate Equipment Safely and Responsibly Learn to safely operate and maintain plant, equipment and irrigation systems under supervision and guidance.
- Support Course and Facility Presentation Contribute to maintaining clean, safe and welcoming course facilities, landscapes and playing surfaces.
- Develop Skills Through Teamwork and Training Work closely with experienced staff, complete apprenticeship requirements and contribute positively to a safe team environment.
About You We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic team player who is eager to learn,
enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in contributing to high-quality golf course conditions and a great experience for golfers and visitors
- A genuine interest in turf management, horticulture or sports turf maintenance, with a willingness to learn and develop practical skills in golf course presentation and upkeep.
- A commitment to learning the safe operation of plant and equipment, including mowers, tractors and other turf maintenance machinery, while maintaining a strong focus on workplace safety.
- Eagerness to develop knowledge of turf management practices, including irrigation, pest and weed identification, and maintaining healthy playing surfaces.
- A reliable and positive work ethic, with the ability to work outdoors, follow directions, take initiative and contribute to daily maintenance activities.
- A collaborative team player with strong communication skills, who values teamwork, embraces feedback and contributes positively to a safe and supportive work workplace.
