JAMTRAC PTY LTD JAMTRAC PTY LTD T/As Emerald Tyre and Mechanical Centre is seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join its team in Joondalup, WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing and repairing a range of light motor vehicles, including engines, braking systems, steering, suspension, transmissions and other mechanical components. The role requires a practical and safety-focused mechanic who can accurately identify faults, undertake scheduled servicing and complete mechanical repairs to a high standard.
The position will also involve using diagnostic equipment and technical service information to identify faults and verify vehicle performance following repairs.

responsibilities Inspect vehicles and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
Perform scheduled servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks and tune-ups. Inspect, repair and replace defective engine components and mechanical parts. Remove, inspect, repair and reinstall engines, transmissions and associated components.
Diagnose and repair braking, steering and suspension systems. Inspect and repair vehicle cooling, fuel and exhaust systems where required. Replace worn or damaged components, including belts, hoses, bearings, brake components and suspension parts.
Carry out tyre-related mechanical checks, wheel balancing and other workshop services as required.
Test and adjust repaired components to ensure correct operation and vehicle performance. Use manufacturer service manuals, technical information and computerised diagnostic systems when undertaking repairs.
Conduct final checks and road tests where appropriate to confirm repairs have been completed safely and effectively. Maintain accurate service and repair records. Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures and manufacturer specifications at all times. Qualification & experience Relevant Certificate III or IV qualification in Automotive or equivalent. Minimum 1–2 years of full-time relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
Demonstrated experience in servicing, diagnosing and repairing light motor vehicles. Ability to diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment. Sound knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and suspension systems.
Ability to interpret technical information and manufacturer service manuals. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Positive understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
