About UsParkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.
PYMHWS is leading a bold and values-driven transformation in youth mental health care across Melbourne’s north and west. We exist to walk alongside young people, their families, carers, supporters and kin, delivering care that is accessible, inclusive, developmentally appropriate, evidence-informed and grounded in lived experience.
Our service model is shaped by the voices of young people and their communities and underpinned by a commitment to safety, equity, inclusion and continuous learning.
At PYMHWS, we are working with our community and partners to build a future where all young people can access high-quality mental health care that recognises their individual strengths, identities, relationships and communities.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for passionate, skilled and visionary professionals to join us in shaping a current era of youth mental health care in Victoria.
The OpportunityThe Multicultural and Multifaith Senior Mental Health Clinician is a specialist senior clinical position within the Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS).
Custodial FYMHS provides specialist multidisciplinary mental health assessment, treatment, consultation and transition support to young people within Victoria’s youth justice custodial system.

- Deep cultural and/or faith-based knowledge, lived experience and/or substantial professional experience, supported by meaningful and sustained engagement with relevant communities.
- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with community leaders, cultural organisations, faith communities and other representative organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical consultation, supervision, mentoring and capability building to multidisciplinary mental health clinicians.
- Ability to translate cultural knowledge and community perspectives into practical improvements in clinical assessment, formulation, treatment planning and service delivery.
- Understanding of the ways culture, faith, spirituality, migration, racism, discrimination, family and community may intersect with mental health, help-seeking and recovery.
