The Role
We are looking for an experienced National Nurse Manager – Urgent Care to provide national centre of excellence clinical leadership across our growing Urgent Care network.
The successful candidate can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, with travel across Australia required as part of this national role.
Reporting to the Director of Urgent Care, this senior leadership position will take responsibility for the clinical delivery of Urgent Care nationally, ensuring our services continue to meet ForHealth Urgent Care Network policy, clinical governance standards and government contractual requirements.
You will work closely with regional nursing and operational leaders, providing expert clinical guidance, supporting the development of new Urgent Care Clinics and driving consistent, high-quality clinical practice across the network.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nursing leader who wants to influence Urgent Care at a national level while remaining closely connected to clinical quality, people and service delivery.
The Opportunity In this role, you will:
- Provide national clinical leadership across Urgent Care.
- Act as a clinical subject matter expert for new Urgent Care developments.
- Support the planning and implementation of new Urgent Care Clinics.
- Drive clinical governance, quality, compliance and risk management.
- Monitor clinical incidents, identify trends and address root causes.
- Support appropriate workforce planning and strategic recruitment.
- Mentor and support Regional Nurse Managers across the national network.
- Drive a high-performance culture through coaching and leadership.
- Support the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
- Lead and promote clinical training and professional development.
- Use performance data and insights to support operational improvements.
- Collaborate with senior clinical, operational and P&C; stakeholders nationally.
About You
You are an experienced nursing leader with strong clinical judgement, operational capability and a passion for developing high-performing healthcare teams.
You will bring
- Experience as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner and/or Paramedic
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/Paramedicine – essential.
- Master’s Degree – highly regarded.
- Minimum 3 years’ clinical supervisory experience, people and operational management.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in emergency / urgent care nursing and/or paramedicine.
- Urgent Care experience – highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of relevant local, state and national requirements.
- Knowledge of Urgent Care and healthcare service delivery.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Solid problem-solving, analytical and project management capability.
- A proactive, accountable and solutions-focused leadership approach.
