Primary objective
Provides a reference point for appropriate, sound clinical and professional advice which affects the work processes, services, and client care of the multidisciplinary team in a defined practice area.
Context statement
Working collaboratively with the Primary Health Care centres located in the East Arnhem region,
and MH/AOD team this position requires extensive experience in applying contemporary approaches to Continuous quality Improvement (CQI) activities and sound knowledge of Safety and Quality processes. The successful applicant will be required to travel by light plane or 4WD to remote communities and hold an NT manual drivers licence or ability to obtain same.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Provides direct clinical care in a defined practice area for client group with diverse and/or complex care requirements.
- Provides sound professional advice critical in dealing with significant issues related to assessment, planning, review, evaluation and coordination of client care in a defined practice area.
- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, secure services and workplaces.
- Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
- Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and experience in the relevant area of clinical nursing/midwifery in dealing with significant issues related to assessment, planning, review,
evaluation and coordination of client care for groups and individuals with diverse and/or complex care requirements.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the understanding, application, analysis and interpretation of a professional body of knowledge to provide sound advice and support to the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience in collaboratively supporting and participating in investigating and implementing recommendations for improved health outcomes using a range of appropriate audit/research approaches.
- Demonstrated use of excellent communication skills to maximise productive working relationships including with relevant specialists and executive management, and manages conflict to promote co-operation, teamwork and understanding in undertaking challenging, demanding and complex work.
- Demonstrates promoting a learning environment through clinical support, instruction, and feedback including mentoring students, graduates and less experienced staff across the multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
- Graduate Diploma beyond entry-to-practice in specialty.
