Love working with children with physical disability, but want more autonomy and flexibility in your role?
Join an expanding paediatric practice in Browns Plains where you’ll work with a predominantly complex physical disability caseload, alongside four Physiotherapists, with the freedom to manage your day without being micromanaged.
⭐ Salaries from $100,000 - $115,000 + Super
⭐ Predominantly complex physical disability paediatric caseload
⭐ High autonomy, no micromanagement and genuinely flexible working hours
This opportunity is well suited to an Occupational Therapist with around 3-4 years’ experience who enjoys working with children with physical disability and wants the flexibility to shape their working week around their clients.
You can focus on managing a rewarding clinical caseload, or, if leadership is something you’re interested in, there are opportunities to gradually take on clinical OT leadership responsibilities and help develop the Occupational Therapy service.
Why You'll Love this Role:
- Complex Physical Disability Caseload: Around 60% of the caseload includes children with cerebral palsy, spinal muscular atrophy, genetic disorders and undiagnosed presentations, predominantly aged 1-10 years.
- Collaborative Team: Work alongside four paediatric Physiotherapists with opportunities for joint sessions.
- Predominantly Clinic-Based: Approximately 90% clinic-based and 10% community-based.
- Purpose-Built Clinic: Freshly renovated Browns Plains clinic with individual therapy rooms, a large open therapy space and the prospect to help develop the OT resource library.
- Flexible Working Week: Flexible start and finish times, with reduced 4-day week and 9-day fortnight options available.
- Professional Development: $2,000 annual PD allowance plus 5 paid PD days.
- External Supervision: Paid external supervision with an Occupational Therapist of your choice, if desired.
- Community Impact: Be part of a practice collecting assistive equipment for families who may otherwise be unable to afford it.
- Flexible Employment: Opportunity to commence 4 days per week and transition to full time.
- Caseload Mix: Around 10-15% of the caseload consists of private clients.
Leadership Opportunities: If leadership interests you, there is scope to gradually take on clinical OT leadership responsibilities as the service grows, including supervision, professional development and quality improvement. If leadership isn’t your focus, you can continue managing your own clinical caseload.
Requirements:
- 3-4 years’ Occupational Therapy experience
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- AHPRA registration
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Driver’s licence and own vehicle
