About the Team
This university-wide role works within a Faculty operations team, supporting the day-to-day delivery of administrative and operational services. You will collaborate with leadership, academic and professional staff, central units and external stakeholders to help maintain effective and responsive operations.

About the Role The Operations Officer provides broad administrative and operational support to enable the effective and efficient management of the Faculty. Working under the general direction of the Operations Manager, you will manage varied priorities, resolve enquiries and contribute to service and process improvements. The position available within FDS reports to the School Manager and sits within the School of Design.
About You
You are an organised and service-focused administrator who can manage competing priorities with accuracy, initiative and sound judgement. You communicate effectively, build positive stakeholder relationships and work confidently both independently and as part of a cooperative team.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational support across travel and expenses, procurement,
- projects, recruitment, contract administration and honorary appointments.
- Coordinate staff and contractor induction and onboarding activities, including access, workspace and equipment requirements.
- Support events, safety, risk, compliance, facilities and space management activities, including access and security administration.
- Resolve administrative, HR, financial, student, visitor and facilities enquiries in a timely manner, while contributing to improved processes and procedures.
Skills, attributes and knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with demonstrated attention to detail when managing multiple or conflicting deadlines.
- Advanced computer skills across databases and common office software, including Outlook, Word and Excel, with the ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision, apply sound judgement and contribute effectively within a team environment.
Experience
- Experience in a similar administrative or operational role within a large, complex and high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated experience delivering responsive, high-quality client service to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experience using administrative systems and contributing to the development or improvement of processes and procedures.
What We Offer
Base Salary Range: $ 87,295.00 - $ 99,865.00 plus 17% Superannuation The position is full time and will be made on a continuing basis.
