Role Description This is a part time contract role for caretakers in a hybrid arrangement, based at Hanworth House in East Brisbane, QLD, with some work-from-home tasks as appropriate. Day-to-day responsibilities include general property care, light maintenance, and ensuring communal spaces, guest areas, and outdoor grounds are clean, safe, and welcoming. Caretakers will support event setup and pack down, assist with guest arrivals and departures, and help coordinate supplies, basic inventory, and vendors when required.

Flexibility in working hours, reliability,



and a strong sense of responsibility toward preserving the heritage character and comfort of the home are important. Car essential.

A 1 bedroom apartment may be offered as part of the arrangement. If accommodation not required, it is essential to live close by East Brisbane.

Qualifications

- Experience in property care, facility maintenance, or housekeeping, with the ability to perform light repairs
- Skills in customer or guest service, including clear communication, a courteous manner, and the ability to support residents, visitors, and event clients professionally.
- Organizational skills for managing tasks, coordinating event setup and pack down, and maintaining basic inventory and supplies.
- Comfort with simple administrative and digital tasks, such as email communication, scheduling, and maintaining maintenance or incident records.
- A genuine interest in heritage properties, community-focused work, and supporting philanthropic activities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing property or guest needs.
- Previous experience in hospitality, caretaking, facilities, or events is highly regarded but not essential.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, in line with events and property requirements.
