About the role
As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Harbourside Port Stephens you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Care Manager. The role is committed to promoting best practice in aged care by supporting residents to maintain their dignity, independence, comfort and quality of life.
Personal Care
Assistants contribute to a safe, respectful and supportive environment, ensuring residents receive compassionate care that meets their individual needs and preferences for as long as possible.
What you will need to be successful:
Essential
- Certificate III Individual Support – Ageing or equivalent.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or Aged Care Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to work to required resident plans.
- An ability to work as an individual or within a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to document resident information accurately.
- Ability to use workplace technology including accessing the intranet and work emails, apps, complete on-line training, submit leave requests and other employee functions.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in residential Aged Care
- Knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and person-centred care principles
- A current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Previous Med Comp experience
