Experienced Pool Technician – Pool Care Brigade The role

We're hiring a highly experienced, licensed pool technician to service our pool clients and help build Pool Care Brigade from the ground up.

Pool Care Brigade is the pool arm of Trade Brigade, a group of specialist trade businesses run from one shared operations office. Our office handles bookings, scheduling, invoicing and customer service, so you can focus on the work and on shaping how the brigade runs.

- Engagement: subcontractor, contractor or casual, with a path to permanent
- Location: Greater Sydney
- Hours: flexible
- Rate: competitive rates

What you'll do

On the tools

- Run regular residential (and, as we grow, commercial) pool and spa servicing routes
- Test and balance water chemistry, and treat green, cloudy and problem pools
- Service, repair and replace pumps, filters, salt chlorinators, heaters, heat pumps, solar, cleaners and automation
- Diagnose leaks and equipment faults, and quote repairs clearly to customers
- Handle, store and transport pool chemicals safely
- Flag pool barrier and safety issues to owners (without acting as a certifier)
- Keep service records, photos and reports in our job system

Building the brigade

- Help set our service standards, checklists and pricing
- Advise on equipment, suppliers, chemicals and vehicle setup
- Grow and look after our client base, including repeat and route work
- Train and mentor new technicians as the team grows
- Work with the other brigades (such as pressure washing) on joint jobs and referrals

What you'll bring You know pools inside out and hold the licences to prove it.

Essential

- 2+ years' hands-on experience as a pool and spa technician
- NSW contractor licence or qualified supervisor certificate in Swimming pool repairs and servicing (or an eligible interstate licence recognised in NSW)
- Certificate III in Swimming Pool and Spa Service (CPP31218) or equivalent experience
- Strong water chemistry knowledge: chlorine, salt, mineral and spa systems, stabiliser, LSI balance

- Confident diagnosing and repairing pumps, filters, chlorinators, heating and automation
- Safe chemical handling, storage and transport
- General construction induction (White Card)
- Current first aid certificate
- Full NSW driver licence
- For subcontractor/contractor: ABN, own public liability insurance and workers compensation or personal accident cover

Highly regarded

- Swimming pool building licence
- Commercial, strata or public pool experience
- Working With Children Check (for schools, childcare or community pools)
- SPASA membership or industry accreditation
- Leak detection equipment and experience
- Own fitted-out vehicle, tools and test kit
- Experience setting up routes, training others or running a pool business

The kind of person we want

- Takes ownership and wants to build something, not just run a route
- Explains problems to customers plainly and quotes honestly
- Reliable, tidy and proud of the work
- Comfortable with a phone-based job app and photo reporting

Permanent (pathway) Full-time or part-time role after a trial period of [3–6 months], with scope to lead the brigade

What's in it for you

- A ground-floor role shaping a current pool business, with a clear path to a lead position
- Office support for bookings, scheduling, invoicing and customer calls
- Steady work fed from a group of established trade brigades
- Flexible start: sub, contractor or casual first, permanent when it suits both sides
- [Pay rates, vehicle, phone, uniform, training support: add what you offer]

- Your NSW licence or certificate number (we check it on the Service NSW public register)
