We are seeking a passionate Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team and deliver person-centred, evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support to NDIS participants. Your caseload and responsibilities will be matched to your experience and capability.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop evidence-based Behaviour Support Plans.
- Provide person-centred Positive Behaviour Support focused on quality of life, independence and participation.
- Develop proactive strategies to understand and reduce behaviours of concern.
- Support the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices where applicable.
- Work collaboratively with participants, families, carers, support workers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide coaching and training to support networks to implement behaviour support strategies.
- Monitor outcomes, review interventions and adjust plans as required.
- Maintain high-quality clinical documentation, reports and case notes.
- Manage an allocated caseload and meet relevant NDIS and organisational requirements.
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer consultation and ongoing career development.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, Allied Health, Disability, Education or a related field.
- PBS Suitability assessment desirable; however, not a requirement for the first stage.
- Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and the NDIS.
- Understanding of restrictive practices and safeguarding.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain.
- Relevant Working with Children Check where required.
- Australian driver's licence and reliable transport where community travel is required.
