HEALTH AND MEDICAL PRACTICE MANAGER

IWC has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Medical Practice Manager to join our Medical Centre team.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Health and Medical Practice Manager is responsible for supporting the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality clinical services within the IWC Medical Centre. You will oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the practice, while working closely with the Medical Director, General Manager and Executive Team.

The role will have a strong focus on people management, financial administration, quality systems, compliance, accreditation and continuous improvement. You will play an important role in ensuring the Medical Centre operates smoothly and maintains a high standard of care for our patients.

IWC is an Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organisation. We deliver services without discrimination to Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the Medical Centre.

- Working with the Medical Director, General Manager and Executive Team to establish and achieve practice goals.

- Managing workforce and human resource requirements in collaboration with HR and management.

- Monitoring practice performance, productivity and service delivery.

- Overseeing Medicare billing, daily reconciliation and financial reporting in conjunction with IWC Finance.

- Developing and maintaining effective practice systems, processes and quality assurance standards.

- Supporting AGPAL accreditation requirements and ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

- Maintaining accurate patient records, practice documentation and Practice Manuals.

- Managing practice supplies, facilities and resources to ensure the Medical Centre operates effectively.





- Participating in clinical governance, audits, patient safety and continuous improvement activities.

- Leading and supporting the practice team and ensuring appropriate delegation of responsibilities.

Skills & Attributes:

- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

- Solid understanding of medical practice operations and healthcare administration.

- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

- Ability to work collaboratively with medical practitioners, administration staff, management and external stakeholders.

- Strong understanding of confidentiality, privacy and compliance requirements.

- Ability to identify issues, develop solutions and implement effective systems and processes.

Key Requirements:

- Previous experience in medical practice management, healthcare administration or a similar senior management role.

- Demonstrated experience managing staff and supporting workforce requirements.

- Experience with Medicare billing and financial administration.

- Knowledge of clinical governance, quality assurance and accreditation requirements.

- Understanding of relevant healthcare legislation, WHS, privacy and employment requirements.

- A Blue Card (Working with Children Card QLD) or ability to obtain.

- Federal Police Check or ability to obtain.

- Current Driver’s Licence is essential or ability to obtain.

- First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.

SALARY PACKAGE:

Your Salary Package is made up of the following:

- Salary Sacrifice Packaging valued up to $15,990 per annum – adding approximately $2,000 to your take-home pay (available after completion of probation).

- Meals and Entertainment Package up to $2,650 per annum (available after completion of probation).

- 9-Day Fortnight (for full-time staff).

- Superannuation valued at 12%.

- Annual Leave Loading of 17.5%.

- 20% discount on IWC Dental Services.
