Our client is a rapidly growing Australian water treatment and environmental solutions business delivering complex projects across the data centre, industrial and mining sectors.

With a strong pipeline of projects, they are looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead opportunities through front-end development and into construction readiness.

Position

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with exposure to water and wastewater treatment projects and a strong background in client and stakeholder management.

As Pre-Construction Manager, you will be the key point of contact for the client, taking ownership of projects from early engagement through feasibility, approvals, commercial development and ultimately construction readiness.

Working in partnership with the internal Engineering Design Manager, you will drive the overall project forward – managing client expectations, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring key programme, commercial and project deliverables are achieved.

This is first and foremost a client-facing project management role. You will also understand the realities of project delivery, ensuring projects are properly scoped and de-risked before being handed across to the delivery team ready for construction.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the key client contact throughout pre-construction.
- Lead projects through feasibility, development and construction readiness.
- Manage client expectations and build robust long-term relationships.
- Work closely with the Engineering Design Manager to drive project deliverables.




- Coordinate consultants, utilities, regulators and other stakeholders.
- Manage programme, budgets, commercials and project risk.
- Ensure a smooth, well-defined handover into the delivery team.

Requirements

- Project management experience across water or wastewater treatment projects.
- Experience across front-end project development, pre-construction or major project delivery.
- Excellent client management, communication and stakeholder skills.
- Good understanding of water treatment and the realities of project delivery and construction.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to drive projects forward.
- Data centre, industrial water or mining experience would be highly regarded.
- Engineering qualifications preferred.
