The Chance:

Xenith Consulting is looking for an experienced Senior or Principal Environmental Scientist to join our growing Environmental team in Brisbane.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role across a diverse portfolio of mining, resources, renewable energy and infrastructure projects, combining technical expertise with environmental approvals, project delivery, client engagement and business development.

You’ll work closely with clients, regulators and Xenith’s multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, commercially focused environmental solutions.

About the Role:

Depending on your experience, you will:

- Lead environmental projects, approvals, assessments and compliance programs.
- Provide advice on mining approvals, Environmental Authority (EA) amendments and mine closure.
- Lead environmental due diligence, risk assessments, rehabilitation and PRCP projects.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, risks and technical deliverables.
- Undertake and lead environmental and ISO 14001 management system audits.
- Build strong relationships with clients, regulators and key stakeholders.
- Prepare proposals, scopes and fee estimates and contribute to business development.
- Provide technical leadership, quality assurance and mentoring across the team.

At Principal level, you’ll also have the opportunity to lead major multidisciplinary projects, develop key client relationships, shape new opportunities and contribute to the growth of Xenith’s Environmental capability.

About You:





We welcome applications from experienced Senior Environmental Scientists ready to take the next step, as well as established Principal-level professionals.

You’ll ideally have

- A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Planning or a relevant discipline.
- 5+ years’ relevant experience in consulting, resources, industry or government.
- Experience delivering environmental projects within the resources sector.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with mining approvals, EA amendments and mine closure.
- Experience with Environmental Management Systems aligned with ISO 14001.
- Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The ability to build trusted client relationships and deliver high-quality outcomes.

ISO 14001 Lead Auditor training, qualification or equivalent EMS certification will be highly regarded. Why Xenith?
