This is an excellent prospect for either an experienced Procurement Administrator or someone looking to establish and develop a career in procurement within the engineering and manufacturing industry. Working as part of the existing procurement team, you will help coordinate the purchasing and supply of materials, components and services for engineering and manufacturing projects. You will work alongside experienced colleagues and collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing and Logistics teams to ensure purchasing requirements are met efficiently and on schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Requesting and evaluating supplier quotations
- Raising and managing purchase orders using MYOB Advanced
- Sourcing materials and components from local and international suppliers
- Following up outstanding orders and coordinating supplier delivery commitments
- Assisting with purchasing requirements from engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) and project schedules
- Identifying potential supply delays and working with the team to resolve them
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records, supplier information and pricing
- Building positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Contributing to improvements in procurement processes and purchasing efficiencies

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence using computers, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through on commitments
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
- An interest in engineering, manufacturing and commercial purchasing
- The ability to work effectively within a team while taking responsibility for assigned tasks
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, engineering administration, manufacturing, logistics or supply chain would be beneficial but is not essential
