Program Director – Enterprise Technology Transformation
Mind Australia | 12-month Fixed Term Contract | Burnley / Hybrid
Mind Australia is embarking on a significant enterprise-wide technology transformation and is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead the journey from its foundations.
Following the merger of Mind Australia and One Door Mental Health, the organisation is now moving to better integrate and simplify its technology environment, establish its enterprise architecture and create a clear roadmap for future investment.
This is an opportunity to join at the very beginning of the transformation and have genuine influence over how the program is shaped and delivered.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CIO, you will lead a multi-phase enterprise transformation spanning applications, systems integration, infrastructure, data, cyber and digital capability .
The initial focus will be establishing Mind’s current-state enterprise architecture, working alongside an external architecture partner and Mind’s Enterprise Architect. From there, you will lead the development of the future state and translate this into a prioritised program of work.
This is not a role for someone who simply wants to inherit an established program and governance structure. You will be joining an environment where there is an opportunity to build the program discipline, governance and delivery approach from the ground up .
You will need to be comfortable moving between the big picture and the detail: working with executives and the Board, challenging architects and vendors, establishing governance, managing risks and dependencies,
and ensuring the program moves from strategy into execution.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Program Director who brings:
- Significant experience leading enterprise-wide technology transformation programs
- Strong experience across systems integration (post merger integration experience), enterprise applications, infrastructure and technology-enabled business change
- Experience leading complex integration, consolidation, merger or rationalisation programs
- Demonstrated ability to establish program governance, structure and delivery discipline in an evolving or lower-maturity environment
- Strong commercial and vendor management capability
- Sufficient technology depth to understand architecture and integration, challenge thinking and ask the right questions, without needing to be the technical engineer
- Experience working with senior executives, Boards and diverse stakeholder groups
- A hands-on approach with a genuine focus on execution and outcomes
- The confidence to constructively challenge, offer an alternative view and influence decisions
Experience across Microsoft 365 tenant migration, Azure/cloud, identity and access management, endpoint/SOE transformation and enterprise applications would be highly regarded.
How You Lead Matters
Mind Australia operates in a unique,
purpose-led environment supporting people experiencing mental health challenges.
We are therefore looking for someone with high emotional intelligence, warmth and strong interpersonal judgement .
You will need to drive momentum and make difficult decisions, but do so in a way that brings people with you. You will know how to challenge without ego, listen before acting, communicate sensitively and adapt your style across a diverse stakeholder group.
Experience within the not-for-profit, community, health, human services or similarly purpose-led sectors is preferred.
This role requires someone who can combine pace, commercial acumen and strong execution with empathy and diplomacy . Mind has a strong Lived Experience voice across the organisation, so the ability to understand different perspectives and navigate change thoughtfully will be particularly key.
Why Consider Mind Australia?
You will be joining Mind at a pivotal point in its transformation.
There is Board and executive support, investment committed to commence the transformation, and an opportunity to help shape a multi-year technology roadmap rather than simply execute somebody else’s plan.
For someone who enjoys building, influencing and leaving an organisation stronger than they found it , this is an opportunity to lead meaningful enterprise transformation within an organisation whose work has genuine social impact.
