Profectus is seeking an experienced Project Costing Services Officer to support cost estimation and investment planning within an Australian Government agency. The role develops and maintains the cost estimates and supporting evidence used to inform prioritisation, affordability and investment decisions across a large, multi-tranche program. The work covers cost modelling, affordability and options analysis, budget forecasting, and preparing cost information for governance forums, briefings and submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cost estimates and cost models to support program prioritisation decisions and future submissions
- Coordinate costing activities across work packages, delivery tranches and related initiatives
- Conduct affordability assessments, options analysis and cost comparisons to support decision-making
- Maintain cost assumptions, supporting evidence and traceability for governance and assurance activities
- Support budget forecasting, expenditure analysis and financial planning
- Prepare cost and affordability information for governance forums, briefings and submissions
- Analyse the cost implications of competing investment options to inform prioritisation and sequencing
- Engage with delivery, finance and other stakeholders on costing, affordability and investment planning
- Support audits, assurance activities and program governance requirements
- Provide support within discipline to other functional areas across the program
Required Experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and explain cost models and supporting evidence
- Ability to analyse and present complex financial information to support decision-making
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and information systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Proven experience in project or program cost model development
- Previous experience in government financial management, cost estimation or budget planning roles
- Experience undertaking cost, schedule, affordability or investment analysis
- Experience supporting government submissions, governance processes or investment decision-making
- Knowledge of government governance structures, committee processes and investment planning
- Skills in project or program management, systems engineering, business management or information technology
- Degree in finance, economics, business, commerce, engineering or a related discipline
Security Clearance Requirements
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must have a current AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance (minimum)
