Docklands, Melbourne | Hybrid | $95–$110 per hour + super, depending on experience

9-month contract + potential 12-month extension | EL1 equivalent

Really Awesome People is seeking an experienced Civil Infrastructure Project Manager to support the our clients upgrade and expansion of Australia’s national weather radar network.

This is an opportunity to deliver infrastructure that supports essential weather observations and warnings for communities across Australia.

The role

You will manage weather radar and observations infrastructure projects from planning and procurement through design, construction and handover to operations.

Your responsibilities will include

- Leading project delivery to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.
- Preparing and maintaining project plans, schedules, risk and issues registers, and statements of work.
- Managing design and construction contracts, suppliers and contractor performance.
- Coordinating procurement activities and approaches to market.
- Working with the Project Financial Controller on budget forecasts and expenditure phasing.
- Providing monthly progress reports and maintaining project governance documentation.
- Engaging technical teams, operational owners, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Managing delivery risks and complying with Bureau work health and safety requirements.





What you’ll bring

Mandatory requirements:

- Australian citizenship.
- A diploma, certificate or comparable qualification in Project Management.
- More than five years’ demonstrated experience successfully managing and delivering civil infrastructure projects.

You will also bring solid stakeholder engagement, financial management, procurement and contract management skills, supported by a practical approach to risk, governance and problem-solving. Knowledge of PRINCE2 and PMBOK methodologies is highly desirable.

Contract details

- Location: Docklands, Victoria.
- Working arrangements: Five days per week, with up to three days working remotely.
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week.
- Estimated commencement: 13 October 2026.
- Initial term: Nine months.
- Extension: One potential 12-month extension.
- Security clearance: Not required.
