Role Description:

Reporting to Services Manager / Operations Manager, you will be doing FIFO from Perth on Various WA Client Sites.

- Lead and supervise Profluid PSV / valve technicians and assigned personnel during FIFO shutdown, commissioning, maintenance and site service activities.
- Plan and coordinate daily work fronts, labour, tooling, test equipment, materials and priorities to achieve client schedules and agreed production targets without compromising safety, quality or technical integrity.
- Conduct daily pre-starts, toolbox meetings and work allocation; confirm personnel understand scope, hazards, permits, isolations, hold points and client requirements before work commences.
- Provide hands-on technical supervision for inspection, testing, calibration, servicing and repair of pressure safety valves (PSVs), pressure relief valves (PRVs) and safety relief valves.
- Review as-found/as-received testing, set-pressure adjustment, seat leakage testing and final testing to confirm work is performed in accordance with approved procedures and client requirements.
- Supervise dismantling, cleaning, inspection, lapping/reconditioning, component replacement, reassembly and testing of PSVs and other industrial valves.
- Assess abnormal valve conditions and determine whether components require machining, replacement, engineering review or client approval before proceeding.
- Supervise inspection, service and repair of gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, control, isolation and actuated valves within demonstrated competency and authorised scope.
- Coordinate and, where competent and authorised, undertake in-situ/on-line PSV testing, control valve diagnostics and other specialist valve testing using Profluid equipment and approved procedures.
- Remain actively hands-on in field execution and container-based valve service activities, including dismantling, inspection, lapping, assembly, calibration, pressure testing, troubleshooting and final testing where required to support the team and meet project commitments.
- Lead and maintain efficient operation of Profluid's container-based/mobile valve workshop and test facilities, including workflow, housekeeping, tooling, calibrated equipment, consumables and safe work practices.
- Verify valve identification, as-found condition, repair details, components replaced, calibration data,



leakage results and final test results are accurately recorded and traceable.
- Review technician inspection, calibration, repair and test documentation for completeness and accuracy before submission or release, in accordance with Profluid procedures and delegated authority.
- Maintain strong, proactive and timely communication between the client site team and Profluid office, including regular reporting on work progress, priorities, technical findings, resource requirements, delays, emerging risks and scope changes.
- Provide clear daily progress updates and promptly communicate matters requiring office support, client decisions, additional resources, technical input or commercial review.
- Monitor daily productivity, hours, progress against schedule and outstanding work; promptly escalate delays, resource constraints, technical issues and scope changes to the Services Manager / Operations Manager.
- Demonstrate strong field problem-solving capability and react promptly to changing site conditions, breakdowns, technical issues and client priorities, developing practical solutions within delegated authority while escalating matters where required.
- Liaise directly with client Supervisors, Engineers, Maintenance personnel, permit authorities, inspectors and third-party witnesses regarding work progress, technical findings, priorities and repair recommendations.
- Coordinate site mobilisation and demobilisation, including personnel readiness, tooling, calibrated equipment, consumables, documentation and transport requirements.
- Ensure test equipment and tooling remain serviceable, within required calibration status where applicable, correctly identified and protected from damage or misuse.
- Provide technical coaching, task guidance and on-the-job competency development to technicians and less experienced personnel.
- Manage site housekeeping, work-area control and equipment security and ensure defects, incidents, hazards and non-conformances are reported promptly.
- Support investigation and close-out of quality issues, rework, client concerns and non-conformances arising from site activities.
- Undertake FIFO work throughout Western Australia on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster, typically 11-12 hour shifts, and remain capable of performing hands-on valve work when required.





Qualifications & Experience:

Essential

- Demonstrated senior-level hands-on experience servicing, repairing, setting and testing PSVs / PRVs / safety relief valves.
- Demonstrated experience supervising valve technicians or mechanical trades personnel in shutdown, commissioning, maintenance or site-service environments.
- Solid practical mechanical fitting and valve repair capability, including fault assessment and repair decision-making.

• Experience using pressure-testing and calibration equipment and supervising safe pressure-testing activities.

- Ability to plan and allocate work, coordinate resources and monitor productivity against daily and project targets.
- Ability to review technical work and documentation, identify errors or abnormal results and require corrective action before release.
- Ability to read and interpret valve nameplates, drawings, datasheets, procedures, client specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of permits, isolations, risk controls and safe systems of work applicable to industrial sites.

• Strong and proactive communication skills, with demonstrated ability to maintain effective reporting and coordination between client representatives, field personnel and the Profluid office .

- Effective client communication, leadership and conflict-resolution skills.
- Demonstrated practical problem-solving ability, sound judgement and responsiveness in quick-moving shutdown, maintenance and field-service environments.
- Willingness and capability to remain hands-on with field and container-based valve servicing, testing and troubleshooting while supervising the team.
- Ability to prepare clear progress updates, technical findings, handovers and site records.
- Ability to work independently, make sound field decisions within delegated authority and escalate matters appropriately.
- Ability to work 11-12 hour shifts on a 14/7 FIFO roster.

Desirable

- Mechanical trade qualification / Mechanical Fitter qualification.
- Previous formal appointment as a Valve / PSV Supervisor, Leading Hand or Shutdown Supervisor.
- Mining, oil & gas, LNG, refinery, chemical or process plant experience.
- Strong experience with API 576 / API 527 PSV inspection and testing practices.
- Experience with pilot-operated PSVs, control valves, actuators and in-situ/on-line valve testing equipment.
- Experience working within a NATA / ISO/IEC 17025 environment and supervising activities requiring equipment and result traceability.
- Current Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry and Gas Test Atmospheres competencies.
- Relevant High Risk Work Licence and current Australian driver's licence.
