Laing O’Rourke, with joint venture partner Amentum Australia, will play a central role in supporting Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) to develop and deliver the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) project at Osborne, South Australia. We will provide program and construction management services of nuclear related civil infrastructure, site‑wide nuclear licensee development expertise, and nuclear safety leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, client specifications, industry standards and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Manage quality risks, non-conformances, corrective actions, defects and audit programs to drive project performance and compliance.
- Build and lead a high-performing quality team through effective performance management, coaching and development.
- Oversee inspection and testing processes, quality documentation, records management and project handover requirements.
- Conduct internal and external audits of project teams, suppliers and contractors to verify quality outcomes and contractual compliance.
- Liaise with Prime Contractors, stakeholders and delivery teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely achievement of project requirements.
About You
- A minimum of 10 years’ construction/engineering project experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent trade qualifications with demonstrated industry experience.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards (e.g. AS5131), Industry Codes and Procedures.
- Awareness of related standards e.g. ISO19443
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams in complex project environments.
- Previous experience with developing Project Delivery Management Systems.
- Lead auditor qualification.
- Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
