About the Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Quality team on a part-time basis (0.66 FTE), working 5 days per week, 5 hours per day. Reporting to the Technical Officer, this hands-on role supports our quality assurance and food safety programs through laboratory testing, sample collection and analysis activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in science, food technology, dairy manufacturing or laboratory operations who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and contributing to product quality and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collecting milk, product and environmental samples across the site
- Conducting routine laboratory testing and product analysis in accordance with approved methods
- Performing Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) testing and environmental monitoring activities
- Recording, analysing and reporting test results accurately
- Supporting calibration, verification and quality control activities
- Working closely with production and quality teams to uphold food safety and quality standards
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring strong attention to detail,
a commitment to quality and food safety, and the ability to work independently while following established laboratory procedures.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a laboratory, food manufacturing, dairy, quality or science-related environment
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of accuracy
- Experience following testing methods, procedures and work instructions
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, reliable and safety-focused approach to work
Desirable qualifications include:
- Certificate, Diploma or tertiary studies in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Microbiology, Science or a related field
- Experience within food, dairy, laboratory or pharmaceutical industries
