About the role

As Regional Manager, you will lead Cancer Council Queensland’s services across Brisbane, ensuring every client’s experience is client‑centred, culturally safe and trauma‑informed. You will oversee accommodation, transport, supportive care, wigs and headwear, and regional engagement activities, ensuring services respond to the cultural, social and emotional needs of people affected by cancer. You will provide leadership to a diverse team, including a site coordinator, supportive care consultants, psychologist and a committed volunteer workforce, ensuring they are supported, supervised and equipped to deliver high‑quality, values‑based care.

Your leadership will foster a culture where clients feel heard, respected, secure and empowered, and where staff and volunteers consistently uphold CCQ’s commitment to equitable access and client wellbeing.

As a key member of the Services Leadership Team, you will contribute to statewide planning, service integration, quality improvement and organisational strategy. Your leadership will ensure regional operations deliver evidence‑informed support that enhances each client’s cancer journey.



This includes embedding feedback mechanisms, strengthening culturally responsive practice, and ensuring operational consistency across all regional sites.

About you To be successful in this role you will bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in health and/or social services.
- Experience in the day-to-day management and leadership of a team in a health and/or social services environment.
- Experience in assessing client needs and making appropriate referrals to health professionals, community services and non-government organisations, utilising problem-solving skills and a client centered approach.
- Experience in the provision of psychosocial and information support.
- Demonstrated ability to practice within an evidence-based framework.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a high-performing team with the ability to problem solve, manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Experience using client management databased and computer literacy in Microsoft office suite.
- An understanding of the impact that the diagnosis and treatment of cancer has on individuals, their partners and families.
- A current First Aid Certificate (including currency of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills) or the ability to obtain, and a current Queensland Drivers' Licence
- Registration with Australian Health Professional Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or respective professional body and experience in volunteer management is well regarded, but not essential.
