The Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (GRAMS) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Midwife to join our Family Health Unit.
This rewarding role supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, babies and families by delivering a culturally secure midwifery and maternal health services across Geraldton and surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Midwife, you will:
- Provide culturally safe antenatal, postnatal and maternal health care services.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop individual care plans.
- Coordinate maternal and child health clinics and deliver preventative health programs.
- Provide health education and support to women, babies and families.
- Work collaboratively with GP's nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and other health professionals.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Communicare and ensure professional standards are met.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development.
What we're looking for
- Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Midwife.
- Experience in community-based primary maternal and child health care.
- Experience working with pregnant women, newborns and infants.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
- National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and a commitment to providing culturally safe healthcare.
