About the role The Registered Nurse will work flexibly between nursing and administrative duties according to patient needs, clinical workload and operational requirements. This is a combined nursing and administration position. The balance between clinical nursing duties and administrative duties may vary from day to day depending on patient bookings, clinical requirements, staffing levels and the operational needs of the practice.
Key responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients within their level of competence and scope of practice
- Assess patients and undertake appropriate clinical observations, including vital signs
- Assist medical practitioners with consultations, examinations and clinical procedures
- Prepare patients, clinical rooms and equipment for consultations and procedures
- Undertake cannulation and assist with intravenous therapies and infusions where appropriately trained and competent
- Monitor patients during and following treatments and procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Follow infection prevention and control requirements
- Answer telephone calls and respond to patient enquiries
- Book, confirm and reschedule patient appointments
About you
- Registered Nurse qualification
- Appropriate training and competence for cannulation and intravenous therapies where required
