Experienced Registered Nurse – General Practice

Beaches Family Practice is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our friendly and supportive general practice team in the Northern Beaches of Cairns, Queensland.

This position offers 30–38 hours per week. The successful applicant will also be required to provide leave coverage for other nursing staff (including sick leave and annual leave) and be available to work Saturday mornings.

Essential Requirements

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Current qualified indemnity insurance.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable Experience

- Previous experience in a General Practice setting.




- Knowledge of the Australian Immunisation Schedule.
- Infection prevention and control experience.
- Experience using Best Practice medical software.

Key Responsibilities

- Patient triage.
- Performing ECGs.
- Wound care.
- Adult and childhood immunisations.
- Ordering medical supplies.
- Assisting doctors with procedures.
- Instrument sterilisation.
- Conducting health assessments.
- Communicating test results to patients as directed.
