Employment Details

- Position: Practice Nurse – General Practice

- Employment: Part-time / Casual

- Location: Caringbah, NSW

- Availability: Monday to Wednesday

- Working hours: Shifts between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm

- Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications

Clinical Responsibilities

- General practice nursing experience is highly regarded.

- Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with current clinical guidelines and best practice.

- Patient triage and clinical assessment.

- Immunisations and travel vaccinations.

- IV cannulation skills and experience are highly regarded.

- Wound care and management.

- Chronic disease management and preventative health.

- ECGs and pathology specimen collection.





- Assist doctors with clinical and minor procedures.

- Provide patient education and health promotion.

- Maintain accurate and appropriate clinical documentation.

- Contact patients regarding results or follow-up as directed by doctors.

- Support patient care planning and coordination with other healthcare providers.

- Maintain clinical stock and supplies, including ordering and monitoring expiry dates.

- Maintain vaccine refrigeration and cold-chain requirements.

- Support infection control, accreditation and clinical compliance requirements.

- Maintain appropriate standards of privacy, confidentiality and professional conduct.

General Skills & Attributes

We are looking for someone who:

- Has excellent communication and customer service skills.

- Is compassionate, professional and confident when dealing with patients and their families.

- Is proactive and able to work independently as well as within a team.

- Has excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.

- Can effectively prioritise and multitask in a busy general practice environment.

- Is reliable and flexible, with availability Monday to Wednesday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.

- Works well with doctors, nurses, reception staff, allied health professionals and other healthcare providers.

- Has knowledge of Medicare item numbers and general practice software, which would be an advantage.

- Is comfortable assisting with telephone enquiries, appointments, correspondence and other administrative tasks when required.
