Permanent Nursing Positions – Not Casual
Ability in Disability (AID) is a registered NDIS provider seeking Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses to join our specialist paediatric complex care team.
These are permanent contracted positions, not casual vacancies.
We are looking for nurses who want consistency, meaningful relationships with children and their families, and the opportunity to provide exceptional one-to-one paediatric nursing within the home, school and community.
All current vacancies involve paediatric participants with complex clinical needs.
CURRENT VACANCIES
ROCKINGHAM – Paediatric Complex Care
Active Overnight Nursing | 7 Nights Available
We are recruiting nurses to establish a consistent team providing active overnight support across seven nights per week.
Clinical supports include
- Intermittent catheterisation and catheter care
- Complex personal care
- Respiratory monitoring
- Cough assist
- High-flow respiratory support
- Clinical observations
- Recognition and escalation of deterioration
- Medication management
- Active overnight nursing
The participant’s family has requested female nurses due to the intimate nature of catheterisation and personal care requirements. Female applicants are encouraged to apply for this participant-specific position.
Applicants should clearly identify which nights they are available to permanently commit to.
MANDURAH – Paediatric Active Night Nursing
Current Permanent Shifts
- Sunday night
- Wednesday night
We are seeking nurses experienced or interested in developing competency in complex paediatric respiratory care.
Clinical supports include
- Paediatric high-flow respiratory support
- Oral suctioning
- Respiratory monitoring
- Airway management
- Clinical observations
- Recognition of deterioration
- Medication management
- Emergency escalation
- Active overnight nursing
Experience in paediatrics, high-flow therapy, respiratory nursing or complex disability care is highly regarded. COTTESLOE – Complex Paediatric Nursing
We have opportunities across both active overnight nursing and weekday school supports.
Active Overnight Supports
Adaptable weeknight availability
Clinical supports include
- Tracheostomy care
- Airway management
- Tracheal suctioning
- Respiratory monitoring
- Adrenal insufficiency management
- Adrenal crisis and emergency protocols
- Enteral feeding
- Medication management
- Clinical observations
- Recognition and escalation of deterioration
Experience in tracheostomy care, paediatric respiratory nursing or complex disability nursing is highly regarded.
School Nursing
- Tuesday: 8:00am–4:00pm
- Thursday: 8:00am–4:00pm
Provide one-to-one clinical nursing support to enable a young person with complex medical needs to safely participate in their school day. This is an opportunity to provide genuine continuity of care while becoming part of an established team working alongside the participant, family, school and clinical professionals.

You don’t need to arrive knowing everything. For nurses with strong clinical foundations and the right attitude, we can provide participant-specific training, clinical mentoring and competency development.
Registration & Requirements
Applicants must be
- AHPRA Registered Nurses (RN) or Enrolled Nurses (EN); or
- Nurses with an AHPRA registration application currently pending
You will also require, or need to obtain:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Clearance
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Australian driver’s licence
- Appropriate Australian working rights
- Strong written clinical documentation and communication skills
Internationally Qualified Nurses We also encourage applications from internationally qualified nurses currently studying in Australia or progressing through the AHPRA registration pathway.
