Breakfast Cook / Public Area Cleaner / Bar Attendant – Torres Strait- Far North Queensland Commencement: 2 November 2026 Flights paid from Cairns Bring your breakfast cooking skills, bar experience and strong attention to detail to a unique hospitality role located in the Torres Strait-Far North QLD. We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on team member who is confident working independently, can use their initiative and enjoy a diverse role across the kitchen, public areas and bar. Starting at 5am daily, enjoy the morning sunrises and a mix of duties covering breakfast, public area cleaning and lunch bar service. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping busy and delivering a high standard of service. You’ll need to be comfortable working on your own and as part of a team, managing your time effectively and maintaining high standards across food preparation, cleaning and customer service. Hours & Package Full-Time – Annual Leave Included $31.30 per hour Monday–Friday 5-day week, Monday–Friday 5am starts Split shifts covering breakfast and lunch Free accommodation and duty meals Shared staff house off-site Own bedroom with shared living areas and bathroom OR Casual – Annual Leave Excluded $39.13 per hour Monday–Friday Daily Schedule 5:00am–8:30am – Breakfast cooking and service 8:30am–10:00am – Public area cleaning 11:30am–2:30pm – Lunch bar service What you’ll be doing Preparing and cooking the breakfast menu Breakfast setup and pack-down Preparing for lunch and dinner service Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen Maintaining excellent customer service standards Vacuuming and mopping public areas Cleaning toilets, restaurant and bar areas Setting up and opening the bar Preparing and serving drinks Taking food orders Cash handling Unpacking and rotating stock Gaming duties Providing fast, efficient and friendly service Ensuring meals are prepared and presented to a high standard Communicating effectively with guests and team members Following workplace health and safety requirements Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards What We’re Looking For You’ll need to be a practical, responsible and self-motivated hospitality professional who is happy working across multiple areas of the venue. Essential: Previous cooking and bar experience Basic cooking skills and confidence preparing breakfast Ability to work independently and use initiative Strong attention to detail Food Safety Certificate RSA and RSG, or the ability to obtain them Comfortable working early morning and split shifts Minimum 6-month commitment Previous experience working shifts independently is highly regarded.
