Community Occupational Therapist | NDIS & Aged Care Permanent | Full-time or Part-time - Permanent or Locum - $78,000 to $120,000 Super - depending on experience Community-based | Flexible Working Arrangements Launceston and Hobart Tasmania - Post Grad considered with a fantastic support structure in place About the Opportunity Henderson Healthcare is currently recruiting experienced Occupational Therapists on behalf of a growing boutique Allied Health provider delivering high-quality services across Tasmania. This is an exciting opportunity for a Community Occupational Therapist to join a supportive and multidisciplinary team working predominantly with NDIS participants and aged care clients . The role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with clients, families, support coordinators and other professionals to deliver genuinely person centred care. You'll work with clients to understand their goals, assess their functional needs and develop practical interventions that support independence, participation and quality of life. The Role As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will manage a varied caseload and provide assessment, intervention and ongoing clinical support to clients within their homes and community environments. You will work collaboratively with internal and external multidisciplinary teams, ensuring clients receive coordinated and holistic support. The role provides exposure to a broad range of Occupational Therapy services, including functional assessments, assistive technology, home modifications, sensory assessment and housing solutions. Key Responsibilities Manage a varied caseload of NDIS participants and aged care clients. Complete comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions. Work collaboratively with clients to establish meaningful and achievable goals. Conduct functional assessments to support independence and participation. Complete assistive technology assessments and equipment trials. Conduct housing assessments, including: Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA) Supported Independent Living (SIL) Independent Living Solutions Complete minor and major home modification assessments. Provide sensory assessments and appropriate interventions.
Develop high-quality clinical reports within required timeframes. Participate in client case conferences with internal and external multidisciplinary teams. Maintain strong communication with clients, families, carers, support coordinators and case managers. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Participate in regular clinical supervision and professional development. Contribute to team meetings, service development and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a high standard of clinical practice in line with AHPRA requirements and the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics. About You We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about community-based practice and enjoys working collaboratively with clients to achieve meaningful outcomes. You will ideally bring: Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist. Experience working within a community-based Occupational Therapy environment is highly desirable. Experience working with NDIS participants and/or aged care clients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build rapport with clients, families and key stakeholders. Confidence managing a varied caseload independently. Strong time management and organisational skills. The ability to prioritise competing clinical and administrative requirements. A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development. A genuine interest in supporting clients to achieve greater independence and quality of life. The caseload can provide exposure to a range of clinical areas, including: Functional capacity assessments Assistive technology Home modifications Housing and accommodation Sensory assessment Activities of daily living Independence and community participation Disability and aged care support Essential Requirements The successful candidate will need to: Hold current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist. Hold a current National Police Check. Hold a current Working with Children Check. Hold a full Australian driver's licence. Have access to a safe and reliable vehicle. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Be able to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement. Membership with Occupational Therapy Australia is desirable but not essential. Interested?
