About us
AP Psychology & Consulting Services is a leading organisational psychology and consulting business dedicated to empowering psychologically healthy, safe and thriving workplaces.
We are committed to making a difference through the prevention of harm and protection and support of psychological health and safety in the workplace. We lead the way through integrated, evidence-based solutions that create sustainable change for our people, partners and clients. Our reach and impact are significant, and our work provides critical support for workplaces.
Values
Our values — Humanistic, Daring, Inspirational and Connected — are at the core of everything we do. They guide how we work with clients, collaborate as a team and build a psychologically safe workplace where our people can thrive.
About the role
We are seeking a proactive, client- centred and commercially aware Sales Development Representative to qualify inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns, events, webinars, referrals and digital channels.
Reporting to the Head of Growth & Partnerships, you will often be the first point of contact for prospective clients. You will respond quickly, listen carefully, understand their needs, assess fit with our workplace psychological health and safety solutions, and progress suitable opportunities into well-prepared qualified meetings.
This is not a closing role. Your focus will be responsive client engagement, thoughtful qualification, professional follow-up and booking meetings where there is a clear and appropriate fit.
You will have the following key areas of responsibility:
- Respond promptly to inbound enquiries from campaigns, events, webinars, website activity, referrals and partner channels.
- Conduct structured, respectful qualification conversations to understand the organisation, presenting need, urgency, decision process, stakeholders, budget pathway and timeframe.
- Assess whether each enquiry should be progressed, nurtured, referred internally or respectfully disqualified based on fit,
need and timing.
- Book qualified meetings for the Head of Growth & Partnerships and provide accurate background notes, contact details and qualification summaries.
- Coordinate calendar bookings, meeting invitations, reminders and timely follow-up.
- Manage personalised email sequences based on sector, campaign source and client need, using engagement signals to prioritise timely and relevant follow-up.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including calls, emails, meeting outcomes, lead status, next steps, source, sector, campaign and service interest.
- Follow up on leads generated from conferences, webinars, workshops, networking events and targeted sector campaigns, prioritising hot and time-sensitive opportunities.
- Provide feedback on lead quality, recurring client needs, common objections and market signals to support marketing and service positioning.
- Work with the Head of Growth & Partnerships to improve qualification criteria, call scripts, email templates and sales development workflows.
- Consistently work toward agreed weekly targets for qualified meetings booked, while supporting reporting on lead progression, campaign effectiveness and the quality of client opportunities.
About you
You are a confident and thoughtful communicator who enjoys speaking with prospective clients, asks purposeful questions and follows through consistently. You combine a client-centred approach with the ability to balance client fit with commercial opportunity, attention to detail and a disciplined approach to systems and process.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in sales development, lead qualification, business development,
customer success or a similar phone-based client engagement role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage professionally with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct discovery conversations, assess opportunity fit and progress leads in a way that is clear, professional and values-aligned.
- Solid organisation, responsiveness and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple leads and priorities.
- Confidence using CRM platforms, managing email sequences and maintaining accurate records. Experience with HubSpot will be highly regarded.
- Sound commercial awareness, with the ability to learn, communicate and represent a professional services offering in a way that builds trust and supports appropriate client decisions.
- A proactive, curious and values-aligned mindset, with genuine interest in workplace psychological health, safety and wellbeing.
