We manufacture and supply a broad range of specialty chemicals and work with customers across Australia, North America, Europe and Asia.
We are seeking an organised, proactive and customer-focused Sales Coordinator to join our team and support our growing local and international customer base.
This is an entry-level position and an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who are looking to begin their career in industry. Graduates from science, chemistry, business or related disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous industry experience is not required, and comprehensive training will be provided.
About the Role The Sales Coordinator plays an important role in supporting our customers throughout the sales and order process, from initial enquiry and quotation through purchasing, production coordination and final delivery.
You will work closely with our Sales, Production, R&D;, Quality Control, Logistics and Finance teams, as well as external suppliers and freight providers.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical commercial experience within the specialty chemical industry while developing skills across sales, customer service, procurement, logistics and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing incoming customer enquiries and ensuring enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.
- Preparing and issuing quotations to customers.
- Following up outstanding quotations and customer enquiries.
- Processing customer purchase orders and creating and maintaining sales orders.
- Coordinating customer orders from receipt through to final delivery.
- Liaising with Production, R&D; and QC teams regarding product availability, manufacturing schedules and expected completion dates.
- Keeping customers informed regarding order status, lead times and expected delivery dates.
- Preparing and submitting purchase orders to suppliers for raw materials, products and other requirements.
- Following up with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, order confirmation and expected delivery dates.
- Coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure materials are available when required.
- Booking domestic and international shipments of finished products to customers.
- Coordinating with freight forwarders and courier companies and preparing or arranging the required shipping documentation.
- Providing customers with shipment and tracking information and following up on deliveries when required.
- Maintaining and updating information in company internal systems.
- Assisting the sales team with customer follow-ups and identifying opportunities arising from existing enquiries and quotations.
- Preparing sales reports and assisting with sales pipeline tracking.
- Assisting with general customer service matters and coordinating the resolution of customer issues with the appropriate internal team.
- Providing general administrative and coordination support to the Sales and Business Development team.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with solid attention to detail.
- An effective communicator with a professional and friendly approach to customers.
- Comfortable communicating by email and phone with customers, suppliers and service providers.
- Able to manage multiple customer orders, enquiries and priorities simultaneously.
- Proactive and comfortable following up with customers, suppliers and internal team members.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with different departments.
- Comfortable working with computer systems, spreadsheets and business software.
- Interested in developing commercial, sales and customer-service skills.
- Willing and enthusiastic to learn about specialty chemicals and our products and services.
- Looking to build a long-term career within industry.
Qualifications and Experience
We welcome applications from recent graduates as well as candidates with previous relevant experience.
A qualification in science, chemistry, business or a related discipline would be advantageous.
Previous experience in any of the following areas would also be beneficial, but is not required:
- Sales coordination or sales administration.
- Customer service.
- Order processing.
- Procurement or logistics.
- Working with customers and suppliers.
- B2B environments.
