For over 40 years, our shared commitment to curing childhood cancer has united us. Together, we continue to accelerate the answers to make that possible.
To accomplish our vision, we’re seeking someone who lives our values: owning and delivering meaningful work, collaborating to drive impact, challenging the status quo to create a better future, and balancing logic with empathy. Let’s achieve more, together.
The Scientific Operations Project Manager is one of a small group of project management roles established to progress the science of within ZERO. The Zero Childhood Cancer Program (ZERO) is Australia’s most comprehensive precision medicine program for children and young people with cancer.
This role is the primary operational point of contact for participating hospitals. It leads operational implementation of approved protocols across those sites, coordinates sample acquisition activities, develops the systems used to monitor sample coordination and operational delivery, and manages the operational risks and issues that arise as projects are implemented. It works in close partnership with the Scientific Project Manager, who provides the scientific advice and oversight, and with the Program Coordinator, who holds governance, grants administration and reporting.
This role is based in office at The Health Translation Hub in Randwick.
To succeed you will have…
- Tertiary qualification in a science, health or biomedical discipline; MSc or PhD desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in the operational delivery or coordination of research or clinical research projects,
ideally across multiple sites.
- Experience implementing protocols, standard operating procedures or research workflows in a hospital, laboratory or clinical research setting.
- Experience coordinating stakeholders across organisational boundaries, including hospital or clinical site personnel.
- Experience developing or maintaining tracking systems, registers or operational reporting.
- Working understanding of research governance, ethics and the requirements of research involving human material.
We will support you to be your best with benefits that include but are not limited to:
- Working in a world-class, purpose-built facility, the only one in Australia dedicated to curing childhood cancer
- Focus on employee wellbeing, including up to 5 gifted wellbeing days off (paid) per year
- Access to Fitness Passport, with access to an extensive choice of fitness facilities across Sydney at discounted rates
- Corporate discounts and discounts on education through UNSW
Join us to shape a future every child deserves and to find meaning in your own. Because together, we can cure every child of cancer. It’s not if, it’s when.
