Job: 1687883 | Full time | Permanent | Dubbo, NSW | $82,532 - $92,632 (Based on Experience) This is an Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander identified position which is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

The Aboriginal Legal Service (ALS) was established in a critical act of self-determination over 50 years ago as part of the Aboriginal rights protest movement. We provide high-quality, culturally safe legal and support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people throughout NSW and the ACT, and fight for social justice and equity for our communities.

Your Impact:

As a valued member of the Care & Protection/Family Law Practice, you’ll play a key role in leading administration, coordinating workflows and supporting legal teams to deliver high-quality, culturally safe services to Aboriginal children, families and communities. You’ll help keep our operations running smoothly while creating a positive, collaborative environment that supports meaningful outcomes. Each day, you will:

- Lead and support administration officers, paralegals and volunteers, including training, task allocation and day-to-day coordination.
- Maintain accurate case management systems, e-folders, records, data entry, archiving and client information.
- Provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to solicitors, including preparing correspondence and legal documents.




- Coordinate office operations, including calendars, meeting rooms, outreach schedules, phones, inboxes and shared workflows.
- Liaise with clients, solicitors, courts, Corrective Services, external agencies and community partners to support effective service delivery.
- Promote culturally safe, collaborative and efficient practices while supporting continuous improvement and the delivery of quality services.

- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and culturally safe, respectful service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including a professional phone manner and culturally appropriate client engagement.
- Proven computer literacy across Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook, with accurate typing skills of at least 35 wpm.
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills,



with the ability to prioritise, multitask and work independently.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism, with a current or obtainable Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check and National Police Check.
