About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our commercial litigation team in a full-time, permanent role. As a Senior Associate at Long Saad Woodbridge, you will be an integral part of our team, where you will manage a broad range of commercial and civil disputes, with a particular focus on claims under the Australian Consumer Law in respect of motor vehicles, contractual disputes and other legal claims.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage and assist with commercial and civil litigation matters from initial advice through to resolution, including claims under the Australian Consumer Law, contractual disputes and other legal claims.
- Advise clients on dispute strategy, prospects, risk, evidence, settlement options and commercially practical outcomes.
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions, advices, correspondence, deeds of settlement and other court and dispute resolution documents.
- Conduct legal research and analysis, including monitoring relevant case law and legislative developments.
- Manage evidence, discovery, subpoenas, expert evidence, chronologies and large document sets.
- Prepare briefs to counsel and experts, and liaise effectively with barristers, experts, courts, tribunals and opposing solicitors.
- Attend directions hearings,



mediations, conferences and other court or dispute resolution events, and appear where appropriate.
- Run matters with an appropriate level of autonomy, while escalating key legal, commercial and risk issues to the supervising Partner.
- Manage competing priorities, court timetables, limitation dates, budgets and client reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear, responsive and plain-language communication.
- Contribute to business development, knowledge sharing and the development of junior lawyers and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with qualified obligations, court rules, confidentiality, risk management requirements and firm policies, and maintain accurate and up-to-date files.
