Are you an experienced events skilled who loves turning plans into well-run, engaging experiences?
BMRG is looking for a Senior Coordinator – Events and Engagement to lead the coordination of events, workshops, field days, forums and stakeholder activities across our diverse environmental and agricultural programs.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys bringing people and details together, and delivering events that connect BMRG with landholders, Traditional Owners, industry, government and communities across the region.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director – Lands, you’ll coordinate events and engagement activities across BMRG from planning and promotion through to delivery and follow-up.
Working closely with Project Managers, project teams and the Events and Partnerships Manager, you’ll bring together the people, logistics and practical details needed to deliver professional, well-run events.
The variety is a big part of the role. One week you might be coordinating a landholder field day; another could involve a stakeholder forum, workshop, industry event or regional engagement activity.
You’ll also help strengthen BMRG’s approach to events and engagement by maintaining accurate information and systems, coordinating the organisation-wide events calendar and identifying practical ways to improve how we plan, deliver and evaluate our activities.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for
- Coordinating events, workshops, field days, forums and stakeholder activities, including schedules, venues, logistics, equipment and supporting materials
- Coordinating invitations, stakeholder communications, attendance, evaluation and post-event follow-up
- Providing hands-on coordination at events to ensure a professional and positive stakeholder experience
- Supporting professional and responsive engagement with landholders,
Traditional Owners, government, industry, research partners and community stakeholders
- Maintaining BMRG’s events calendar and identifying relevant external events and opportunities for BMRG participation
- Managing event registrations, EOIs and participant information through Eventbrite, BMRG’s CRM and associated systems, ensuring accurate information flows to relevant project teams
- Working with the Marketing and Events team to promote activities and capture appropriate event content
- Supporting event risk management, safety and compliance requirements
- Improving event systems and processes to strengthen efficiency and stakeholder experience.
About You
You’re an experienced events and engagement professional who knows how to make things happen.
Highly organised and solutions-focused, you can manage multiple activities and competing priorities without losing sight of the details. You plan ahead, adapt when things change and bring a calm, organised approach to delivery.
You’re also a confident communicator who enjoys working with people. You can build productive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, collaborate effectively across teams and take ownership of your work.
You’ll bring
- At least five years’ relevant professional experience in event coordination, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, communications or a related role
- Demonstrated experience coordinating events, workshops, field days, forums or stakeholder activities from planning through to delivery
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills,
with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence engaging with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams while independently managing your own priorities
- Strong digital capability and confidence working across event, stakeholder and information management systems
- High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate event and stakeholder information
- A proactive approach and the ability to anticipate requirements and follow activities through to completion
- An understanding of event risk management, privacy, recordkeeping and organisational compliance requirements
- Experience working with landholders and/or Traditional Owners (desirable)
Qualifications & Desired Skills
- Relevant qualifications in event management, business administration, communications, marketing, project management or a related discipline are desirable; equivalent demonstrated professional experience will also be considered.
- Experience using Eventbrite or similar event management platforms, CRM systems and Microsoft 365, with the confidence to quickly learn and adopt new systems and platforms.
