Senior Corporate Accountant – Group Finance
Sydney CBD | Hybrid Working Environment An exciting chance has arisen for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join the Group Finance team of a large, complex and highly regarded Australian organisation.
Reporting to the General Manager – Group Finance, this is a broad corporate accounting role with significant exposure across group consolidations, statutory and management reporting, board reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit and technical accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end accounting and reporting across corporate entities, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage the monthly Group consolidation process, including consolidation journals and intercompany reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of monthly CFO reporting and prepare quarterly financial reporting packs for the Board.
- Prepare financial analysis, commentary and supporting schedules for senior management and Board reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of annual statutory financial statements and external financial reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and coordinate requirements throughout the year-end audit process.
- Support budgeting and forecasting for Corporate entities, including monthly actual versus budget and forecast analysis.
- Manage lease accounting requirements, including AASB 16 schedules, journals, reconciliations and disclosures.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, controls and systems.
About You
You will ideally bring
- Strong Group financial reporting and consolidation experience.
- A solid technical accounting foundation with exposure to statutory reporting.
- Experience working within a large, complex or multi-entity environment.
- Strong understanding of month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
- Exposure to Board, CFO or senior management reporting.
- Experience managing or supporting external audit requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
