Role Description The Senior Data Analyst Mentor role is a part-time hybrid position based in the Greater Sydney Area, with flexibility for some work from home. In this role, the mentor guides learners through data analytics concepts, tools, and best practices, providing feedback on exercises, projects, and real-world case studies. The mentor designs and delivers clear explanations of complex topics such as data modeling, statistics, and analytical workflows, and supports learners during scheduled classes, Q&A; sessions, and office hours.

Daily tasks include reviewing student work, preparing learning materials, demonstrating practical data analysis techniques,



and collaborating with other instructors to continuously improve the curriculum. The mentor also helps learners develop qualified communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills relevant to data-focused roles.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills and practical experience in data analytics for solving real-world problems.
- Solid foundation in statistics, including descriptive and inferential methods used in data-driven decision making.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, data structures, and designing data pipelines or analytical workflows.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to beginners.
- Experience mentoring, teaching, or coaching in a technical or data-related discipline is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with common analytics tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python/R, BI platforms) is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment in the Greater Sydney Area and manage part-time teaching commitments alongside other responsibilities.
