Senior Dispatch Officer
Manufacturing Company – Heavy Industrial environment

Great opportunity to join a well-established medium-sized Australian Company in the manufacturing sector producing core construction materials for the home and infrastructure sector. A leading manufacturer and supplier of quality products, our client has a high profile, is committed to safety, and driving efficiency and competence throughout their manufacturing site and distribution network.
As part of a small team, you will be responsible for providing the day-to-day support and coordination of the overall dispatch team / function whilst also working as an active team member taking and processing customer orders through the companies commercial systems, and coordinating with production / depots to ensure availability and the safe transportation of goods to the customer in a timely manner. Duties include:
· Coordination of the overall dispatch team / function
· Taking incoming customer orders (via phone and email predominantly)
· Processing orders – inputting accurate data into the Companies ERP system – Microsoft Business Central.
· Liaising with Production / Warehouse/ Depots re the fulfilment of orders
· Liaising with the Companies Transport Carrier – communicating with Drivers, ensuring loaded correctly (in compliance with standard operating procedures to comply with regulatory and company requirements) and delivered on time and in full to the customers
· Monitoring and reporting of pallet movement.
· Customer service / problem solving with customers and across the business ie sales, operations
· Administration as it relates to this area of the business – dispatch records and documentation.
· Participating in 5S programs as it relates to continuous improvement The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
· Team leadership / Supervisory experience – of a small team - in the dispatch function of a manufacturing / distribution business.
· Day-to-day experience gained in a dispatch or similar role function ie outbound logistics within a manufacturing and / or transport distribution business
· Experience in coordinating loads ie liaising with Drivers AND having a sound understanding the chain of responsibility (COR) and regulations.
· Intermediate to Advanced IT skills with ERP systems ie Microsoft Business Central would be highly advantageous OR similar Systems, Excel etc.
· Strong phone skills / Order Taking and Data entry skills – high attention to detail
· Numerical acumen
· High level of customer service and problem-solving skills
· Robust planning and prioritization skills
· Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, often hectic environment
· Ability to communicate easily with customers (internal and external) – and effective written skills
· Excellent organization and planning skills; able to meet deadlines – be patient and flexible; adapt to situations and not get frustrated or flustered. Resilient.
· Stable work history
Monday to Friday rotation to cover 6am to 4pm.
