Our client is a well-established Tier 1 mechanical services contractor with over 35 years in the Melbourne market. They are known across the commercial building industry for quality delivery and long-term client relationships. The business handles projects from start to finish: design, construction and commissioning through to ongoing service and maintenance. Their project portfolio covers hospitals, education and university facilities, clean rooms, sports stadiums, commercial offices, multi-storey residential and Datacentres. The role Reporting to the Construction Manager, you'll take full ownership of large commercial air conditioning installations, from contract award through to defects and handover. You'll manage cost, programme and subcontractors, and you'll be the main point of contact for builders, consultants and engineers. Key responsibilities Analyse tenders for major plant and equipment, and let orders that meet savings targets and programme requirements Engage and manage subcontractors (electrical, controls, refrigeration) and monitor their performance on site Check specifications, drawings and contracts for compliance Coordinate engineering checks with the drafting and engineering teams, including fan resistances, pump heads, valve sizing and equipment selections Manage progress claims,
variations and scope changes Build detailed site labour programmes and run regular site supervision visits Chair works meetings and attend design and site meetings Resolve consultant, engineer and builder queries, and coordinate commissioning and technical issues Manage close-out, including internal clean-up and defect lists before consultant inspection Set up and maintain contract files, material schedules and project documentation Coordinate quality audits and uphold WHS standards on site About you Min 5 years in the mechanical services industry, with proven PM delivery on major projects A solid HVAC track record across cost management, productivity and site operations Strong planning, organisation, documentation and reporting skills A genuine commitment to WHS and safe site practices The ability to build strong relationships internally and with builders, consultants and subcontractors Current driver's licence and WHS Induction (White) Card An engineering degree or similar (desirable) What's on offer Competitive Salary Car Long-term career stability with a highly regarded, established contractor A solid pipeline of significant commercial projects Support from an experienced in-house design, drafting and engineering team To apply, click "Apply" or contact Chris McCutcheon at Atlas Recruitment for a confidential conversation.
